JUMP TO RECIPE

This recipe is the good good!! My sister even said “I don’t like tofu but this tastes good”... I mean who doesn’t like tofu?? - But this means you have to try the recipe! The marinade gives a delicious umami flavour and I love pairing it with broccoli and sweet potato!! I baked the tofu but you can also fry or air fry them!!

The Best Crispy Tofu

Healthy Num Num | Michelle

  • prep time: 25 min
  • bake time: 25 min
  • total time: 50 min

Servings: 2-3

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium block of tofu (mine was 350 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy seasoning or sub for coconut aminos, soy sauce, or tamari.
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca starch (or arrowroot flour or cornstarch!)
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

Instructions:

  1. Start by cutting your tofu in half and pressing it with a cloth for 10-15 min. I like to place something heavy on top to help press it down.

  2. Make the marinade by mixing all of the ingredients together except nutritional yeast.

  3. Cut the tofu into squares and mix in the marinade - the smaller the squares the crispier it will be!

  4. Place onto a parchment lined pan and coat with the nutritional yeast.

  5. Bake at 425°F for 25-35 min or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Enjoy!
